FDA Public Meeting: Patient-Focused Drug Development for Nonhealing Chronic Wounds
August 25, 2026 | 10:00 AM – 4:30 PM ET | Hybrid
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is hosting a landmark public meeting dedicated to the patient experience with nonhealing chronic wounds — and the AAWC encourages every member to participate.
This hybrid event will bring together patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, medical product developers, and federal partners to share firsthand perspectives on how chronic wounds impact daily life, current treatment approaches, and what matters most when considering participation in clinical trials. The meeting will feature structured panel discussions across three focused sessions: the health effects and daily impacts of nonhealing wounds, current treatment approaches, and perspectives on clinical trial participation.
This is a rare and meaningful opportunity for the wound care community to speak directly to FDA leadership and help shape the future of drug development for the millions of patients living with chronic wounds.
